MUSCULO-SKELETAL DISORDERS (MSDs)

The most common work related ailment, MSDs, include all soft tissue pathologies (muscles, tendons, ligaments and nerves). These issues occur in the joints of the upper and lower limbs. Painful, they can also lead to a loss of strength or mobility. If left untreated, they can lead to permanent disabilities.

RECOGNIZING MSDs

Muscle fatigue, tingling, numbness or localized pain, the symptoms of MSDs can be very varied. When they appear, they are felt only during exercise and disappear at rest. They do not reduce work capacity. When the pathology sets in, the symptoms persist after work and reduce the abilities of the affected person.

KNOW AND LIMIT RISK FACTORS

Prolonged sitting or standing, physical straining, prolonged exposure to vibrations, a leaning position, lifting heavy loads, repetitive activity of the hand and wrist, prolonged flexion of the fingers… there are so many postures that can potentially cause MSDs. The chiropractor provides postural and lifestyle advice to limit the appearance or aggravation of MSDs.
